Foot Locker chief financial officer to retire

Foot Locker has announced that its chief financial officer Lauren Peters is to retire next April.

The company has now embarked on a search for her successor and said it expects to consider both internal and external candidates.

Peters has worked with the business for the last 23 years and has headed up the finance function since 2011.

Richard Johnson, Foot Locker chairman and chief executive, said: “With Lauren’s expertise and leadership, we have built a world-class finance organisation and successfully executed a series of strategic initiatives that position Foot Locker to continue driving growth and value creation.

“Lauren has been an integral member of our management team and a tremendous partner to me. On behalf of the entire board of directors and the management team, we thank Lauren for her many contributions and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”

In addition to Foot Locker, the company’s brand portfolio includes Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay, Footaction, and Sidestep. The company operates 3,000 retail stores across the world.
