Fashion giant Very.co.uk plans to grow plus-size business in 2022

Digital retail giant Very.co.uk is preparing to grow its plus-size fashion business after sales in the category soared in the second half of the year.

The site – operated by Liverpool-based The Very Group – says sales of plus-size items rose 75% year-on-year since July. This year Very.co.uk has added brands including Yours, Evans, City Chic and Avenue.

Since July more than 420,000 customers have shopped plus size on the site, while searches for “plus size” and “curve” were up 14% year-on-year for the last 12 months.

The retailer says that in 2022 it aims to partner with more plus-size brands on top of the 90 it already works with. And it aims to grow its own V by Very Curve brand, which already offers 400 items.

Emma Alexander, fashion director at The Very Group, said: “Expanding our plus size ranges is an important part of making our overall fashion offer even more diverse and we’re excited to be adding more brands at pace.”
