F. Hinds to return to Luton after 25 years
F. Hinds is to make a return to Luton after an absence of 25 years.
The family owned jewellery retailer will open a new store at the town’s The Mall on Saturday 22 August.
Selling products ranging from diamonds and branded watches to earrings and necklaces, the shop will also offer services such as gold for cash, watch repairs, watch battery replacements and valuations.
F. Hinds first opened a store in Luton 1919 at 5 Park Square before relocating to The Arndale Centre (now The Mall) in 1972. However, the shop closed in 1993.
Andrew Hinds, diamond buyer and director at F. Hinds, said, “We are delighted to be back in Luton after a gap of over 25 years. We first had a shop in Luton in 1919, just over a century ago, and we are delighted to be able to return to serve the town once again.
“As a family business established in 1856, we pride ourselves not only on our wide range of diamonds, gold & fashion jewellery, top watch brands and other gifts, but also on the individual service we give each of our customers, many of whom become like family friends over the years.”
The new store will mark the retailer’s 115th store opening. To celebrate the opening, the retailer has teamed up with The Mall to offer shoppers the chance to win a £200 gift card as part of a social media competition.
Lavinia Douglass, marketing manager at The Mall Luton, added: “After 27 years, we’re thrilled to announce F.Hinds will once again become part of The Mall’s family and we’re delighted to welcome them back here to Luton.”
