Eddie Bauer to expand presence in Japan

US fashion brand Eddie Bauer is to expand in Japan.

The movie follows the company’s acquisition by Authentic Brands Group last year.

ABG has now teamed up with Japanese trading company Itochu to open the first freestanding Eddie Bauer stores in the country. The partnership will also include expanding Eddie Bauer’s shop-in-shop locations and the re-launch of its Japanese ecommerce site.

To make this happen, Itochu will collaborate with fashion wholesale and retail company Mizujin to design, manufacture and distribute Eddie Bauer products in Japan.

Jarrod Weber, ABG group president lifestyle and chief brand officer, said: “We are pleased to grow the Eddie Bauer brand in this important market and to expand on ABG’s relationship with Itochu. Through this agreement, Itochu becomes a marquee partner for Eddie Bauer as we further the global strategy across strategic markets and engage with outdoor enthusiasts around the world.”
