Dune London says high heels are not dead

Footwear retailer Dune London has included occasionwear shoes in its new collection despite consumers shifting away from high heels and dressier styles during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the retailer said the vaccine has provided a light at the end of the tunnel and women will once again have a desire to dress up and wear glamorous shoes.

Debra Bloom, global buying director at Dune London, said: “I think most retailers are going with an ‘only flat and trainers push’ but we will stay true to our heritage and continue to offer a special collection of heels for summer.”

While the Spring/Summer collection features a broad range of casual and trend led pieces, it also includes some “special, dressy pieces”, although in a smaller mix than usual.

Bloom added: “Once we’re feeling the benefits of the vaccine and lockdown is over, everyone is going to want to go out to events and parties and get dressed up again!”
