COS to unveil new concept store at London’s Coal Drops Yard

Fashion retailer COS is to open a concept store at the new Coal Drops Yard shopping destination in London’s King’s Cross.

Due to open when the scheme launches this autumn, the store will stock an edit of the COS collection and will also act as a multifunctional platform to showcase works from established and emerging artists. In addition, the shop will offer items from independent wellbeing companies, lifestyle brands and publishing houses.

Situated inside the listed section of the scheme’s transformed former Victorian industrial yard, the store will span three floors and 577 square metres. The interior will follow the COS aesthetic while acknowledging the historical details of the original building.

Coal Drops Yard was established in 1850 to handle the eight million tonnes of coal delivered to London each year, and more recently was the home of nightclubs Bagley’s and The Cross. Designed by Heatherwick Studio, the new shopping scheme will be home to over fifty stores, restaurants and cafés.
