Club Monaco appoints new creative director

Club Monaco has hired Richard Chai as creative director and senior vice president.
Reporting to Club Monaco chief executive Francis Pierrel, Chai will manage the design of all of womenswear, menswear and accessories at the business.
He will replace Steven Cateron who has worked in the role for the last 11 years.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Chai launched his own label in 2004 and is a former design director of Marc Jacobs. His previous experience also includes stints at Donna Karan and Armani Exchange.
Founded in Toronto in 1985, Club Monaco was acquired by Ralph Lauren in 1999.
