Celtic & Co recruits finance chief from fellow Cornish fashion brand Seasalt

Martin Hayball has been appointed group head of finance at Cornwall-based natural sustainable fashion brand Celtic & Co.

Hayball joins the business from clothing and lifestyle retailer Seasalt, where he was head of financial planning and analysis. Before that, he held senior financial positions with utilities firms Pennon Group and South West Water.

James Williams, Celtic & Co MD, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Martin at a pivotal time for our business as we build on the success of the last two years. He brings a wealth of experience to the role and will be a great addition to our leadership team.”

Since qualifying as an accountant and corporate treasurer, Hayball has held several senior finance positions at companies including Ernst & Young LLP, Pennon Group Plc, and Red One Ltd.

He said: “I’m excited about joining a growing sustainable business and helping to develop and implement the future finance strategy for the company, as well as leading and developing the finance team to help deliver our objectives.”

Celtic & Co was founded in 1990 by husband-and-wife team Nick and Kath Whitworth, and now employs around 90 permanent members of staff across two sites, with head offices at Indian Queens and its factory in Newquay.
