Burberry brings back Paul Price for chief product merchandising role

Burberry has appointed Paul Price as chief product merchandising and planning officer.

He is making a return to the luxury fashion brand after previously working as its chief merchandising officer for ten years from 2007.

After leaving Burberry in 2017, Price became chief executive of Topshop and Top Man and subsequently took up the role of  chief executive of James Perse in Los Angeles. He then ran his own consulting firm from 2021.

Joshua Schulman, chief executive of Burberry, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to Burberry. He is an exceptional merchant and retail leader who has led high performing teams across channels and geographies.

“Paul combines business acumen and a focus on the customer with a dynamic and energetic leadership style.

“As a key member of the Burberry leadership team during the company’s peak era of value creation, Paul was responsible for product strategies that led to consistent double-digit growth.”

Due to take up his new role on  9 December, Price will join Burberry’s executive committee and report to directly to Schulman. His new responsibilities will include leading Burberry’s merchandising and planning teams, as well as those in licensing, architecture and the showroom.

Schulman added: “I look forward to working with Paul and know he will help unleash the commercial and creative alchemy that will drive Burberry forward.”
