Burberry appoints Orna NíChionna as senior independent director

Burberry has appointed Orna NíChionna as senior independent director with effect from 2 April.

In a statement, the luxury brand said NíChionna has been an independent non-executive director of the business since 3 January 2018 and is chair of the remuneration committee and a member of the nomination committee. 

She is currently a senior independent director at Saga and previously held the same role at Royal Mail, HMV and Bupa.

Further to its announcement on 13 July 2021, the company has also confirmed that Dame Carolyn McCall will retire as a non-executive director on 2 April 2022.
