Burberry appoints new board member

Burberry has appointed Stella King as a non-executive director.

Due to take up her role on 1 April 2025, she has been working with Moncler since 2011, firstly as the luxury brand’s president of Asia Pacific and then as its chief Chinese business officer, a role she will step down from on 31 December.

From March 2021 to April 2024, King served as a non-executive director of Moncler subsidiary Stone Island. Earlier in her career, she was president of Asia Pacific at Sergio Rossi and also held various managerial positions at Lane Crawford in mainland China.

At Burberry she will also be a member of the nomination committee.

Gerry Murphy, Burberry chair, said: “Stella has impressive and deep understanding of the luxury market and consumers in the Asia Pacific region. Her insight and expertise will be a great asset to Burberry and we are delighted that she has accepted our invitation to join the Burberry board.

Burberry has also announced that Fabiola Arredondo and Antoine de Saint-Affrique will retire from the board as non-executive directors following its AGM in July 2025.

Murphy added: “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Fabiola and Antoine for their service to the company.  The board has benefitted greatly from their extensive knowledge and experience throughout their tenures and I wish them both every success in their future endeavours.”
