Boohoo names new chief financial officer
Boohoo has announced that it has appointed Stephen Morana as its chief financial officer after Shaun McCabe stepped down from the role by mutual agreement with immediate effect this week.
Morana has spent a significant part of his career working with Betfair and Zoopla where as chief financial officer he led the businesses through their IPOs. He was also a non-executive director at Entain from 2016 to 2021 and at Boohoo from 2014 to 2017. His most recent executive position was at Cazoo where he was chief financial officer for over two years until 2022.
He will take up his new position on 19 February.
Mahmud Kamani, group executive chairman at Boohoo, said: “Stephen is a highly regarded finance director who is well known to Boohoo, having previously served on our board in a non-3xecutive capacity for four years. He supported us through the IPO process and in our early years as a PLC. While the business has grown significantly since then, Stephen has a wealth of experience with global digital businesses and is therefore very well placed to support the strategy in pursuit of our growth ambitions.”
McCabe joined the Boohoo board in October 2020 as an independent non-executive director and was subsequently appointed as chief financial officer in October 2022.
Boohoo said: “The board takes this opportunity to thank Shaun for his valued contribution to the group during his tenure and wishes him every success for the future.”
The retailer has also confirmed that its trading remains in line with expectations.
