Boden increases full year sales and profit
Lifestyle clothing retailer Boden has seen its full year sales rise by 13% to £347.1 million as pre-tax profit edged up to £27.3 million from £26.2 million in the previous year.
During the year to December 2017, the retailer increased its number of first-time customers by 14% and benefited from a strong performance in its womenswear collections.
In addition, growth was driven by expansion in the retailer’s distribution channels including its retail store in London’s King’s Road and concessions within John Lewis department stores.
Boden chief executive Jill Easterbrook said the company had made good progress in the year. She added: “2017 saw a year of considerable investment and this will continue for the next few years. The investment programme will provide us with a solid platform as we build Boden into an international multichannel retailer.”
The company said its 2018 financial year had started well with sales up 12% in the first half.
