Birkenstock to open UK flagship store at London’s Seven Dials
German sandal maker Birkenstock is to open its UK flagship store on Neal Street in London’s Seven Dials this autumn.
Covering 1,100 square feet over two floors, the shop will be Birkenstock’s first brand-owned flagship store in the UK. It will stock the company’s collection of comfortable sandals for men, women and children and will be the only dedicated Birkenstock store in the capital.
Birkenstock is a sixth-generation family-run business with roots that can be traced back to 1774.
The opening will follow the launch of Japanese skincare brand Shiro’s new store on neighbouring Monmouth Street earlier this month.
Takahiro Fukunaga from Shiro said: “Seven Dials is an iconic destination home to many international boutique brands. We felt that the line-up of complimentary retailers and the position in the heart of central London made it the ideal place to launch our store as part of our expansion into the UK market.”
Seven Dials is home to over 150 shops including international flagships and concept stores.
Sam Bain-Mollison, head of retail at Shaftesbury, said: “The fully branded Birkenstock store will have the largest range of products in the capital, making it a must-see for fans of the popular brand, as well as other shoppers, providing them with a store unique to Seven Dials.
“We are also thrilled to welcome the opening of Shiro, which adds another international brand to our offer. Together with Fresh, Le Labo and Kiehls, they form part of a growing beauty offer that is set to expand with another exciting retailer to be announced in the coming weeks.”
