Benetton names James McArthur as new board member
Italian fashion brand Benetton has appointed James McArthur to its board.
With extensive international experience in the fashion, luxury and retail sectors, McArthur’s past roles include chief executive of Harrods, Balenciaga and Anya Hindmarch.
He was also instrumental in the launch and development of the Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen fashion businesses within Gucci Group, where he was group executive vice president from 2000 to 2007. In addition, he led the strategic development of Gucci Group through the acquisition of businesses such as Bottega Veneta and Boucheron.
McArthur has recently been nominated to the board of directors of Russian retail group Destsky Mir which has around a 25% share of the market for childrens’ products in the Russian Federation.
