Authentic announces new licensees for Ted Baker in the US and Canada
Authentic Brands Group has announced new licensing partners for Ted Baker as it looks to secure the future of the fashion brand in the US and Canada.
The line-up includes United Legwear & Apparel Co., BCI Brands and Peerless Clothing.
Authentic said the three companies will help to expand the brand’s presence across the US and Canada, cement its identity and foster strong connections with key retailers and consumers.
United Legwear & Apparel Co. will design and manufacture the Ted Baker branded men’s sportswear, golf and denim categories and will also oversee all wholesale and concession shops and operate online channels in the US and Canada.
Meanwhile, Peerless will design and manufacture Ted Baker’s tailored clothing, dress shirts and outerwear in the countries and BCI Brands will be the brand’s strategic design and development partner for women’s sportswear, dresses and denim.
Iconic brand
Jarrod Weber, global president, sports and lifestyle at Authentic, said: “Ted Baker is an iconic high street brand known throughout the world for its classic British designs.
“Establishing a new and vibrant core business in the US and Canada is an essential building block for the revitalisation of this brand.”
In 2022, Ted Baker agreed a £211 million takeover by Authentic which also owns brands such as Billabong, Forever 21 and Eddie Bauer.
However, Ted Baker’s UK and European retail and online arm appointed administrators in March 2024 after the brand built up a significant amount of arrears while Dutch company AARC was running its stores and online business.
