Astley Clarke and Edge of Ember unite under new leadership
British jewellery brands Astley Clarke and Edge of Ember have been merged under new leadership by parent company Aeternum Holding.
The move will see Astley Clarke chief executive Scott Thomson step down and Lynette Ong, founder of Edge of Ember, take the helm at both brands.
Prior to establishing Edge of Ember, Singaporean-born Ong worked in the finance sector with Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.
Each brand will continue to operate their own consumer and wholesale channels following the merger, but will benefit from a centralised team focused on shared innovation and operational efficiency.
In a statement, Aeternum said the move goes beyond bringing two brands under one umbrella, adding that it aims to create a new identity that honours the legacy of Astley Clarke whilst integrating the contemporary, ethical values championed by Edge of Ember.
Based in Hamburg, Aeternum Holding has invested in small to medium sized jewellery brands such as Astrid & Miyu, Merci Maman, Coeur De Lion, Qudo & Lizas, and Sif Jakobs.
Markus Lampe, chief executive of Aeternum Holding, said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Scott for his exceptional leadership at Astley Clarke over the past 11 years, during which he has built one of London’s most admired premium jewellery brands.
“As we welcome Lynette, a visionary female entrepreneur, to lead both Astley Clarke and Edge of Ember, we are excited to embark on a new chapter for these two iconic brands.”
