Ann Summers, the iconic multi-channel retailer, celebrates JG Day, honoring former Executive Chair Jacqueline Gold CBE’s birthday, with the milestone launch of Knickerbox.com.
This new ‘House of Underwear’ platform goes live today, featuring brands like Calvin Klein Underwear, Lemonade Dolls, Sloggi, Tommy Hilfiger, and the new house brand KBX.
Marking Jacqueline Gold CBE’s legacy
Knickerbox.com is not just another launch; it marks a significant step in Ann Summers’ ambitious digital strategy. The platform is dedicated to Jacqueline Gold CBE’s legacy, continuing her commitment to innovation, pioneering change, and breaking through societal prejudices.
Jacqueline, along with Vanessa Gold, Chair of Ann Summers, and Maria Hollins, CEO of Ann Summers, envisioned Knickerbox.com as a platform to expand reach and visibility on the digital high street. The launch under Maria’s leadership is a testament to the Ann Summers team’s resilience and dedication to carrying forward Jacqueline’s legacy.

A legacy of empowerment
Jacqueline Gold CBE (1960-2023) was a brilliant woman and the Executive Chair of Ann Summers. She was an activist for women in business, inspiring countless generations to pursue their dreams and celebrate their successes, including her daughter, Scarlett. Jacqueline’s determination saw Ann Summers grow from an unknown brand to a British household name. Jacqueline was awarded a CBE in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to Entrepreneurship, Women in Business, and Social Enterprise. She described this as her proudest career moment.
In 2016, Jacqueline was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, she went into remission, but the cancer returned in 2019. Jacqueline bravely battled through her third round of chemotherapy before passing away. She shared her journey to help and inspire others. Every year on her birthday, July 16th, Ann Summers will celebrate JG Day, pledging to honor Jacqueline’s legacy.
