Game warns on profit
Game has warned that its full year profits will be “substantially below” previous expectations following low supplies of Nintendo Switch to the UK market.
In a statement, the video games retailer said consumer demand for Nintendo Switch had been strong but the level of supply to the UK market had been lower than expected.
As a result, it now expects adjusted EBITDA for the full year to be well below previous expectations.
Looking forward, Game said demand for Nintendo Switch is helping to strengthen the outlook for its next financial year when it expects to benefit from both increased Nintendo Switch hardware supply and interest that is building for Microsoft’s new Xbox One X console. It also expects to see growth returning to the UK and Spanish software markets in the period.
