Maplin names Robin Terrell as non-executive director

Technology retailer Maplin has appointed Robin Terrell to its board as a non-executive director.

Terrell is a former chief customer officer at Tesco and has also been vice-president and managing director of Amazon UK. In addition, he has held senior leadership roles at Figleaves, John Lewis, and House of Fraser, and previously held non-executive positions at Tesco Mobile, Wilkinson, Lazada Group and Monica Vinader.

He is currently a non-executive director at William Hill, Karen Millen and Wilko.

Darren Shapland, chairman of Maplin, said: “It is a further validation of our strategy and ambitious plans for future growth that we can attract someone of Robin’s exceptional calibre and experience. As the retail landscape continues to change, it is imperative that we utilise the best brains in the industry.

“During Robin’s 18 year retail career, he has worked at the forefront of this change, including building successful multichannel businesses for some of the leading traditional brands and helping them become truly multichannel.”
