Dixons Carphone appoints Michelle Gorringe-Smith as director of stores
Dixons Carphone, the parent company of Currys PC World and Carphone Warehouse, has appointed Michelle Gorringe-Smith to the newly created role of director of stores.
Gorringe-Smith joined the business in 2014 and since then has held a range of senior roles, including category director and customer strategy director. More recently, she was working in a strategy director position where she was responsible for Dixons Carphone’s bespoke omnichannel selling model.
In a statement, Dixons Carphone said she wold bring a customer first approach to her new role and will be focusing on optimising the performance of all 298 Currys PC World stores across the UK. She will report to Dixons Carphone chief operating officer, Mark Allsop.
Allsop said: “Throughout her time with Dixons Carphone, Michelle has demonstrated her 100% focus on, and commitment to putting our customers first and I’m delighted to share her appointment today. We are building a world class omnichannel team and with Michelle’s appointment I’m confident that we’re going to get there smarter, with happier customers, who come back to us for life.”
Prior to joining Dixons Carphone, Gorringe-Smith worked with Indesit Company and Comet Group.
