Currys PC World launches TV ad for ShopLive service
Electricals retailer Currys PC World has unveiled a new TV ad to promote its ShopLive video call service.
Launched in June 2020, the service connects customers to a video chat with one of the retailer’s its tech experts who can help them choose the best products when shopping from home.
The 30-second TV spot aims highlight how easy it is for customers to use the shopping tool and and features experienced employees of Currys PC World instead of actors.
The ad will air on 25 March on Channel 4 and Channel 5 and will be followed by placements on ITV during Midsomer Murders on 28 March. It is also running on video on demand and YouTube.
Corin Mills, head of brand, comms and planning at Currys PC World, said: “Our new TV advert, airing in living rooms across the UK from the 24 March to 6 April, is all about this amazing ShopLive offering, showcasing our brilliant store colleagues in action, providing friendly and expert guidance to consumers. One of our experts even proclaims, ‘yes I am human’ – a reminder that we are using real ‘tech-perts’, rather than just your average AI chatbot.
“The entire Currys PC World team is incredibly proud of the support provided to shoppers to date thanks to ShopLive, and we are all excited to let even more people know about this amazing service, so we can continue to share our expertise throughout this difficult time and beyond.”
The TVC was developed and produced by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Currys PC World’s advertising agency.
