AO expands housebuilder sector team

Online electricals retailer AO has strengthened its business to business division with two new appointments.

Launched six months ago as a means of targeting the housebuilder market, AO Business has hired Gary Holt and Andrew Robinson as business development managers.

While Robinson will cover sales in the north and Scotland, Holt will have responsibility for the south of England.

Prior to joining AO, Holt worked with worktop manufacturer Westag and Getalit where he spent five years as area sales manager for retail before moving into a new role as business development manager. During his time with the business, he worked in the developer and housebuilder sectors on projects for the Royal Air Force and various university sites across the country.

Meanwhile, Robinson has joined AO from furniture manufacturer Vitra where he was contract business sales manager. Prior to that, he worked in a business manager role for housebuilders at Made Better by Ellis. His previous experience also includes 16 years as national sales manager at Accent Kitchens.

Anthony Sant, managing director of AO Business, said: “We’re thrilled to have both Gary and Andy joining us on our mission to improve the way that housebuilders purchase appliances. With their wealth of sales experience and contacts in the industry, we are now in an even better position to provide a solution to the everyday challenges facing housebuilders.”

To date, AO Business has secured contracts to supply appliances for over 12,000 new building plots.
