Morleys Stores to reopen historic Jollys store in Bath
Morleys Stores has announced plans to reopen the iconic Jollys department store in Bath’s Milsom Street.
Having signed a lease on the historic site following the announcement of its closure in December, Morleys has committed to restoring it to its former glory and making it the anchor store for the location.
While the shop will offer a selection of fashion, beauty and homeware items, Morleys will introduce exclusive names never seen before in Bath. The store will also feature a full-service beauty experience and a food and beverage offering.
Allan Winstanley, chief executive of Morleys Department Stores (pictured), said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Jollys back to life and to be part of the vibrant retail landscape in Bath.
Never Miss a Retail Update!“Our approach is to treat each of our stores as a unique independent department store, ensuring we create an exceptional shopping experience tailored to the local community.
“We are especially pleased to confirm that we will be keeping the Jollys name, honouring its deep-rooted legacy in the city.”
Working with Bath City Council, Morleys is now starting a major refurbishment of the building. The store will open in two phases: an initial launch in March 2026, followed by a full completion and grand opening in October 2026.
Councillor Mark Elliott, the council’s cabinet member for resources, added: “We set out the council’s commitment to the local economy in our ten-year economic strategy and this investment is a very positive recognition of the great retail offer our city has and the work the council has undertaken to support it.”
Morleys Stores operates Elys in Wimbledon, Pearsons in Enfield, Camp Hopson in Newbury, Roomes Fashion & Home in Upminster, Selbys in Holloway, Morleys in Brixton, Morleys in Bexleyheath, and Morleys in Tooting.
