Marks & Spencer appoints new director of M&S Bank
Marks & Spencer has appointed Kirsty Ward to the new position of director of M&S Bank and Services.
Having previously worked as vice president of financial services at Walmart, Ward’s experience also includes stints as senior director for Asda Money, Banking and Mobile and head of product management at M&S Bank under its former guise, M&S Money.
Ward will join M&S on 19 November and will be responsible for the retailer’s M&S Bank and M&S Energy businesses. She will report to Mel Smith, the retailer’s strategy director.
Smith said: “M&S Bank and M&S Energy are great opportunities for us to reach more customers with the trusted M&S brand and Kirsty’s appointment will give us greater focus on growing these important parts of our business.”
M&S Bank is managed by HSBC and offers current and savings accounts, cards, insurance, mortgages and travel money.
M&S has recently teamed up with Octopus in a new partnership that will supply energy and services under the M&S Energy brand.
