Liberty appoints Sophie Beresiner as global head of content

The Liberty department store has appointed Sophie Beresiner as its global head of content.

In the newly created role, Beresiner will oversee the retailer’s creative production, editorial and social media teams whilst reporting to  Madeleine Macey, Liberty’s chief marketing officer. This will include managing the retailer’s in-house team of content creators, who create all of its imagery and copy as well as The Liberty Book quarterly magazine.

An award winning journalist,  Beresiner has  over twenty years’ luxury editorial experience and most recently led the editorial launch team of global tech media brand BURO.UK. Prior to that, she worked as beauty director of Elle UK magazine for seven years. She currently writes a women’s interest column for Sunday Times Style for which she was awarded PPA Columnist of The Year.

Macey said: “We are very excited to welcome Sophie to the Liberty team. Following our site re-platform last year and continued success with ecommerce, it further demonstrates our focused direction to grow digitally, bringing content at the forefront of our strategy both on and off line. Her experience in this field along with her energy and enthusiasm means she will be a valuable part of the creative and communications team driving this important part of the business.”

Due to take up her role on 2 August, Beresiner will be based at Lasenby House, Liberty’s newly refurbished offices which are situated behind the London store.
