John Lewis Partnership to recruit for more than 10,000 roles

The John Lewis Partnership is recruiting for more than 10,000 roles in the run-up to Christmas.

Jobs will be available across Waitrose and John Lewis stores, as well as in the partnership’s distribution network.

The partnership is planning to recruit for more than 2,800 seasonal positions across its 329 Waitrose shops, with roles spanning supermarket assistants, night shift workers, and customer delivery drivers. In addition, 34 John Lewis stores have vacancies for 2,900 temporary positions in sales and merchandising.

Meanwhile, a further 2,700 seasonal roles will be available for warehouse operatives and drivers in the partnership’s supply chain through the recruitment agencies it works with.

Lisa Cherry, executive director of people at the John Lewis Partnership, said: “We’re hugely proud of the way our two brands have become part of the excitement that surrounds Christmas and this is a great opportunity to be at the heart of that at such a special time. Our customers are at the forefront of everything we do; we want to deliver a great festive season for them with inspirational products and the very best customer service courtesy of our brilliant partners.”

In addition to the temporary jobs, a further 1,700 positions will be offered across both Waitrose and John Lewis in a variety of roles over the coming months.

Training in customer experience for new recruits will be provided through shops and the John Lewis Partnership’s dedicated School of Service.
