Hudson’s Bay Company appoints president

Hudson’s Bay Company has appointed former Kikki.K chief executive Iain Nairn as president.

Reporting directly to HBC chief executive Helena Foulkes, he will be responsible for driving growth and transformational change at the department store.

Prior to joining Kikki.K in 2016, Nairn was chief executive of the David Jones department store chain in Australia. Other previous positions include chief executive of Country Road Group and the same role at Witchery Group.

Foulkes said HBC undertook a worldwide search for suitable candidates before appointing Nairn.

She added: “Iain brings strong leadership, sharp focus and in-depth expertise that I believe will make a positive impact on Hudson’s Bay.

“There is a tremendous opportunity in Canada to deliver an outstanding customer experience and I am excited to work with Iain to elevate the brand and drive performance for future success.”

Originally from the UK, Nairn has worked in multiple markets including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, Asia and South Africa.
