Harvey Nichols appoints Kate Phelan as creative director
Harvey Nichols has appointed Kate Phelan to the newly created role of creative director.
Reporting to chief executive Julia Goddard, she will be responsible for the retailer’s brand campaigns and for elevating its visual identity and creative propositions.
Phelan began her career with British Vogue, followed by a stint at Marie Claire, before returning to Vogue, where she served as co-creative director for 18 years. Later, she joined Topshop as creative director, a position she held for seven years until 2017.
During this period, she also held a part-time role with Vogue, allowing her to influence fashion narratives across both the retail and editorial sectors.
Phelan has been credited with creating some of the most memorable fashion images for fashion magazine over 25 years, working with many influential photographers and creatives.

Founded in 1831, Harvey Nichols has stores in London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin in the Republic of Ireland and a dedicated beauty store, Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool.
