Bloomingdale’s to launch new store concept
US department store Bloomingdale’s is to launch a new store concept call Bloomie’s.
With the first location due to open on 26 August in Virginia, the shop will stock a smaller, more highly curated selection of products than a traditional Bloomingdales’s and will offer a tech-enabled stylist service as well as a restaurant.
Situated in the Mosaic District shopping centre, the 22,000 square foot space will aim to be a style and service destination that offers a distinct assortment of contemporary and luxury brands across women’s and men’s fashion and beauty.
Tony Spring, chief executive of Bloomingdale’s, said: “Bloomie’s has always been a term of affection from our loyal customers. Our new Bloomie’s store will deliver everything they love about Bloomingdale’s in a highly edited, convenient, and unexpected way. We’ve been part of the Washington, D.C., metro area community for decades, and we are excited to welcome new and long-time customers to Bloomie’s to be the first to shop this fresh and casual experience.”
