Harvey Jones to open first shopping centre store
Handmade kitchen retailer Harvey Jones is to open its first store in a shopping centre as it looks to double its number of showrooms in the next five years.
Due to launch this weekend next to John Lewis at Milton Keynes’ Centre MK, the store will be the retailer’s 31st showroom and the first in its estate to trade seven days a week and in the evenings.
Covering 775 square feet, the new showroom will display the entire range of Harvey Jones kitchen concepts and will house three large sets of each kitchen range offered by the company.
To support its store expansion programme, Harvey Jones will launch its first ever television advertising campaign on Sky channels early next year.
The retailer is expecting to report sales of circa £17.5 million for the year ended 31 December 2014.
Harvey Jones chief executive John Curwen said: “We are excited about opening our 31st showroom in Milton Keynes – our first showroom in a shopping mall. The opening comes at an exciting time for Harvey Jones – 2014 has seen growth across all fronts – with both sales and showroom roll outs up year-on-year.
“While the December showroom opening brings to a conclusion a successful year, we are also excited about 2015 and beyond, as we seek to double our showroom estate over the next five years.”
